“How I work with Reiki: A look inside my sessions.”
My little home sanctuary, where energy shifts, sound heals, and spirit speaks.
When people ask me what Reiki is, I often find it easier to explain what I do and what I experience in a session because it's so much more than a technique. It's a full- body, full- energy, spirit- supported practice that I completely immerse myself in. My sessions are intuitive and unique to each person. I blend Reiki, guided meditation, light breathwork, and often a few healing instruments when I feel called to use them. I also work with my angelic guides, and the energy of those on the other side who come through to support healing. This post is a little window into what that looks like and feels like both for me and for the person receiving.
How I Sense and Work with Energy.
As soon as the session begins-whether in person or at a distance I tune into your energy. Sometimes, I tune in even beforehand. I start to sense how you're doing overall, and then more specifically within the different energy centers (chakras) in your body. Often I can feel blockages, heaviness, or areas that are overactive or depleted.
I feel it in my hands, in my own body, and in the space around me. Sometimes it's a sensation like warmth, tension, coolness, heaviness, tingling, or magnetic energy. Other times I receive blocks of thought, visuals, or intuitive knowing. I often see or feel where the energy is stuck, where it wants to move, or what it needs to release.
Working with Angelic Support and Spirit
I never work alone. I call in the support of my angelic team and guides- both mine and yours. Many times I feel them working through my hands, or guiding me to direct the energy in specific ways. I can sense them helping to clear out harsh or stagnant energy and replacing it with healing light full of peace, love, clarity, and strength.
Sometimes loved ones who've passed will come through to offer support or to let their presence be known. Other times, it's a quiet sense of being held by something greater. All of this happens with gentleness and care, in a space of sacred trust.
Using Sound and Guided Meditation
While Reiki is powerful on its own, I love weaving in sound intuitively- when it feels aligned. Instruments like crystal bowls, chimes, rain sticks, or drums help to move energy, loosen tension, and enhance release. It's not a full sound bath, but a gentle layer that supports the work.
I also often begin sessions with a short, guided meditation along with some gentle breathwork. It helps set the tone, grounds the body, and opens the heart to receive. Each one is different, because each person and each day is different.
What You May Feel During a Session
Everyone experiences Reiki in their own way. Some people feel tingling, warmth, cool, or deep relaxation. Others feel emotion surfacing, or images and thoughts coming through. Many people feel lighter afterward- like something's been cleared, even if they can't quite explain what.
Whether you are working through something heavy, feeling off balance, or just in need of a reset, Reiki meets you where you are and helps guide you back to where you want to be.
If you've been curious about Reiki or want to experience this kind of energetic support, I'd love to hold that space for you. My sessions are quiet, sacred, and guided by more than just me- they're supported by light, love, spirit, and deep intention.
Your energy holds so much wisdom. Reiki just helps uncover it.
